ABOUT

I’ve struggled with acne since 7th grade, starting with small bumps and texture on my forehead and chin. With no skincare routine or knowledge, my journey began with confusion and trial-and-error. My first dermatologist visit was disheartening, offering little insight and a generic gel prescription. Over time, I tried multiple treatments—topical creams, tretinoin, and Amzeq—but each came with its own challenges, from dryness to persistent breakouts and even discoloration.

The summer of 2023 marked a low point when I developed painful cystic acne. Embarrassed to leave my room and overwhelmed, I overhauled my skincare routine, only to learn that simplicity works best for my skin. Eventually, I chose to try Accutane despite my fears of the side effects. While it initially worked, I began noticing breakouts returning after 3–4 months. I am currently on my second round of Accutane, trying to remain hopeful.

You’d think I started this blog because I’ve cracked the code to clear skin, but that’s not the case. I’m still on my journey, and through this blog, my mission is to share what I’ve learned about acne, explore new insights, and normalize acne as part of being a teenager.
